Appartement Moderne et Luxueux - Vieil Aix, au coeur du Centre ville

after our safe return back home we want to thank you very much for the use of your apartment at Aix. We have spent some wonderful days in this beautiful and enchanting city and the surrounding area. It was exciting to stay right in the middle of a Bermuda triangle with all its many bistrots and restaurants, many young people, interesting shops and sights - and enjoy peaceful quietness as soon as you close the door. Your spacious and modern apartment is very well equipped, we did not miss anything, everything worked fine, and we very much liked the feeling of being independent from a hotel routine as the nearby markets and (very good) food stores as well as a good choice of restaurants were just around the corner.
After our arrival at Aix (the TGV experience was very positive) your mother gave us a very warm welcome and made us feel like home spontaneously. She is a very kind person and we ask you to pass our regards on to her. During our stay at Aix we exclusively met friendly people which was great !
When we left on Wednesday morning we had underestimated the heavy traffic at this time of the day, because the streets round the Rotonde Mirabeau were jammed with buses and incoming commuters and it took us some minutes to find our way out of the city. Anyway, we arrived at the TGV station just in time to catch the train back to Frankfurt and enjoyed a very comfortable ride back.
As these days were so inspiring and affected by many positive experiences we might repeat this procedure. We are fully aware that your apartment is well booked during the year, so we will have to keep an eye open to look for vacancies an book well in advance.
Let us thank you once again for your very professional handling of the rental, your generous attitude (free use of the internet, fair price, no hidden costs) and the warm welcome from your family. Maybe we will have the chance to meet you, too, when we will vist Aix and rent your apartment next time.

A special thanks to owner and his gracious mother for a wonderful stay in Aix. This apartments was comfortable, large, clean, well maintained, and conveniently located in old town Aix. It is very quiet as it faces the roofs of all the other buildings that surround it. It is located on the third floor so requires climbing two sets of semi circular stairs. (His mother certainly had no problem climbing them. She graciously insisted on helping us carry our bags up and down.) It had all that we needed and is part of what made our stay in Aix so memorable. (The pictures very accurately represent the apartment.)

The apartment is located just 5 minutes from the Cour Maribeau, the main street in Aix. Nothing is more than a 15 minute walk. There are restaurants, boulangeries, pâtisseries, pizza places, crêpe making establishment, ice cream and glacée locations, mini markets as well as a Monoprix (a store and market). There high end stores as well all others located on the bottlom level of many of the buildings. It is located in the oldest part of old town, so there lovely narrow streets and little traffic. The historic sites are right in the middle of it all. The tourist office, a seven minute walk from the apartment, offers to two tours of Aix, but sadly both are on market days. There is a large multi-locational market on Saturday morning. They also have information about tours around Provence, but we didn't want to leave Aix.

We spent 5 wonderful days in Aix and never left the old town. (There is no need for a car.) The Diabline will drive you around the old town, buses will take you around the newer part of the city, and tours, trains and buses and will take you elsewhere. It is a town that I would love to return to and this apartment is where I would want to stay.
